Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
“With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve.”
— Quaid-e-Azam
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the founder of Pakistan and one of the greatest leaders of the twentieth century. His real name was Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He was born on 25 December 1876 in Karachi. His father’s name was Jinnah Poonja. From his childhood, Jinnah was intelligent, honest and determined.
He received his early education in Karachi. Later, he went to England to study law. After completing his education, he returned to India and started working as a lawyer in Bombay. Through hard work and ability, he soon became a successful lawyer.
Quaid-e-Azam entered politics to defend the rights of the Muslims of the subcontinent. At first, he wanted Hindus and Muslims to work together. However, he soon realized that Muslims needed a separate homeland to live according to their religion, culture and traditions. He joined the All-India Muslim League and united the Muslims under one flag.
“We are a nation with our own distinctive culture and civilization, language and literature.”
Quaid-e-Azam was a man of strong character. He was honest, brave, hardworking and determined. He never gave up, even when he faced serious difficulties. Under his leadership, the Muslims of India struggled peacefully for a separate country. His guiding principles were:
“Unity, Faith and Discipline.”
The Pakistan Resolution was passed on 23 March 1940. It demanded a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. Quaid-e-Azam worked day and night to achieve this goal. Due to his wise leadership and the sacrifices of the Muslims, Pakistan came into existence on 14 August 1947.
Quaid-e-Azam became the first Governor-General of Pakistan. He wanted Pakistan to become a peaceful, democratic and prosperous country. He believed in justice, equality and religious freedom. In his address to the Constituent Assembly on 11 August 1947, he said:
“You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place of worship.”
Quaid-e-Azam also believed that women should participate in national development. He knew that no country could progress without educating and empowering its women. He said:
“No nation can rise to the height of glory unless your women are side by side with you.”
Unfortunately, Quaid-e-Azam did not live long after the creation of Pakistan. He died on 11 September 1948. His death was a great loss to the nation, but his life remains a source of inspiration for us.
In conclusion, Quaid-e-Azam was a sincere, courageous and visionary leader. He gave the Muslims of the subcontinent a free homeland through peaceful and constitutional struggle. We should follow his principles of unity, faith and discipline and work honestly for the progress of Pakistan.
“There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan.”
